Shipping, Returns, and Refunds Policy

Last Updated: June 30, 2026

Thank you for shopping at Cicli Leggenda (“ciclileggenda.com”). Because we specialize in unique, vintage, and previously-owned Italian bicycles and components, our shipping and return conditions differ from standard retail e-commerce. Please read the following terms carefully before completing your purchase.

1. Order Processing & Handling Time

All our bicycles undergo a dedicated safety check and specialized international packaging process before leaving our facility.

  • Once your payment via Bank Transfer is fully cleared and confirmed, we require up to 7 business days (one week) to prepare, pack, and process your order for shipment.

  • You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information as soon as your package is handed over to the carrier.

2. International Shipping & Customs Duties

We ship our vintage goods to North America (USA, Canada) and Northern Europe.

  • Standard Shipping: Unless otherwise requested, all international shipments are processed via UPS Standard International. Shipping costs will be clearly calculated and stated during the purchase process and are paid entirely by the customer.

  • Customs, Duties, and Taxes: For deliveries outside the European Union (such as the United States or Canada), the customer is solely responsible for all import duties, customs clearance fees, and local taxes upon the package’s arrival at the destination customs office.

  • Customs Inspections: Cicli Leggenda is not responsible for any delays, packaging alterations, or minor cosmetic damages caused by mandatory government customs inspections in the destination country.

  • Optional Shipping Insurance: Customers may explicitly request to add shipping insurance to their UPS shipment to cover full item value during transit. The additional cost of this insurance shall be fully borne by the customer.

2.1 Refusal of Delivery & Unpaid Customs Duties

If a customer refuses to accept the delivery from UPS, fails to respond to customs clearance notifications, or refuses to pay the required import duties and taxes in their destination country, the package may be either returned to Italy or destroyed by customs authorities.

In any such event, the customer shall be held entirely liable for all resulting costs. These costs include, but are not limited to:

  • The original shipping fees.

  • The return shipping fees charged by UPS to bring the bicycle back to our facility in Lecce.

  • Any storage fees accrued at the customs office.

  • Any clearance fees, administrative penalties, or return import duties imposed by authorities.

Deduction from Refund: If the package is safely returned to our facility, all the aforementioned expenses, fees, and damages will be strictly deducted from the customer’s original purchase refund. If the total accumulation of return fees and duties exceeds the value of the bicycle, or if the package is ordered to be destroyed by customs due to non-payment, no refund whatsoever will be issued to the customer.

3. Customer-Arranged Carriers

If you prefer to arrange your own shipping or use a personal courier account:

  • You are entirely free to do so, but you must coordinate the pickup details with us in advance.

  • Transfer of Risk: From the exact moment the bicycle is handed over to your designated carrier at our facility, Cicli Leggenda assumes no liability. Any subsequent damage, loss, theft, or transit delays are the exclusive responsibility of the customer and their chosen shipping provider.

4. “As-Is” (Visto e Piaciuto) & Transit Damages

Our products are rare, historic, and sold in “As-Is” / vintage condition, meaning their aesthetic and mechanical wear reflects their age and history.

  • If the package arrives intact and shows no signs of shipping damage, the sale is considered final and accepted.

  • Damages in Transit: If the shipping box arrives visibly damaged, you must sign for the delivery “with reserve” (accettazione con riserva) or refuse it, and contact us immediately at info@ciclileggenda.com within 48 hours with photographic proof. This allows us to initiate an official insurance claim and recovery process with UPS.

5. Return Policy for Change of Mind

We want you to love your historic ride. If the bicycle arrives safely but you simply change your mind or are not satisfied with your purchase, we accept returns under the following strict conditions:

  • Return Period: You must notify us of your intent to return the item within 14 days of receiving the package.

  • Return Shipping Costs: The customer is fully responsible for arranging and paying for the return shipping back to our warehouse in Lecce, Italy, including any return customs duties or import fees.

  • Condition of the Item: The bicycle must be returned completely unused, unaltered, non-disassembled, and packed securely in its original protective international shipping box.

6. Refunds Process

  • Once the returned item is successfully delivered back to our depot, it will undergo a thorough inspection.

  • If the bicycle is confirmed to be in the exact same condition as originally shipped, we will issue a refund for the price of the product.

  • Please Note: Original shipping fees are non-refundable. The refund will be processed via bank transfer within 10 business days following the successful inspection.
